Labor Day

Ahhh...Labor Day. A time to sleep in, camp, enjoy the great outdoors, and...EAT!

We thought we would share a few of our favorite recipes with you to try out:

 

Sara’s Easy Peasy Pulled Pork

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 lbs pork butt
  • 1 8 oz bottle of Root beer (I prefer A&W)
  • 2 packets McCormicks Memphis Pit Rub (replace one packet with McCormicks Smokin’ Texas Rub for a kick or both for extra kick!)

 Directions:

  • Cut pork butts into 3-4 lb chunks so they cook evenly and place in large slow cooker
  • Mix seasoning packets with a half cup water and pour over meat
  • Add root beer to almost cover the meet without overflowing
  • Cook on low for 8 hours
  • Drain some of the liquid, pull apart, and enjoy

Serves 10-15


Ryan's Liquid Crack Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1-1.5 lbs. of spicy Italian sausage
  • 2 8oz packages of cream cheese
  • 1 can Rotelle brand diced tomatoes with green chilies/cilantro and lime juice

  Directions:

  • Brown sausage, add to crockpot with other ingredients

This makes about ½ a standard crockpot, double for a company potluck or party!


Molly's Dried Beef Pickle Dip

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 3 ounces, weight Dried Beef, Finely Chopped
  • ¾ cups Dill Pickle, Chopped
  • ½ cups Sour Cream
  • 2 Tablespoons Green Onion, Chopped
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Black Pepper

 Directions:

  • Combine all ingredients and chill before serving. Serve with crackers or chips. (I prefer wheat thins!)

Serves 10-15

Annual BBQ & Shred Event
